Le Vasche
The door of the LE VASCHE accommodation overlooks the alley that goes up Borgata Freschi, an ancient stepped street.
Crossing the entrance, you enter the living room with a plastered vaulted ceiling, where the kitchen counter, the dining area, and an armchair are housed. An opening in the ancient wall leads to a room with an exposed stone barrel ceiling, in which there is a “dream” bathroom, equipped with a corner bath for two people.
In the past, this room housed the underground tanks, covered with slate slabs, in which the olive oil produced in the surrounding countryside was stored. The characteristics of this environment guaranteed the best preservation of a valuable product such as Taggiasca extra-virgin olive oil, thanks to the constant temperatures and reduced brightness, the absence of extraneous odors and flavors ensured by the slate coating.
The steep original stone staircase of the time, with high and narrow steps, goes up to the first floor, where the bedroom with the double bed and the sturdy iron headboard, is illuminated by the beautiful roof terrace that faces it and offers a splendid “open-air” living room sheltered by a gazebo to enjoy the sunrise and a wide view of the valley to the sea.
