The front door of the LE VASCHE accommodation looks down the lane running along Borgata Freschi, an isolated road dating back to ancient times.
As you enter, you will see the living room with its vaulted, plaster ceiling, which also plays host to the kitchen and dining areas. An opening in the thick, old wall leads to a room with an exposed-stone, vaulted ceiling, where a “dream-come-true” bathroom has been installed, featuring a corner tub big enough for two.
In years past, this room housed tubs lined with sheets of slate, which were used to store the extra-virgin olive oil produced in the surrounding countryside.
The traditional tubs provided excellent storage for this highly-valued product, keeping it at a steady temperature, protecting it from light and ensuring that it would remain free from foreign aromas or flavors – all thanks to the slate lining.
A steep stairway made of period stone, with high, narrow steps, leads to a room located on the first floor.
Here you will find a double bed complete with a robust iron headboard, and a delightful balcony among the rooftops, creating a gorgeous open-air living room where you can enjoy the breathtaking sunrise and endless views sweeping from the valley down to the sea.
